On the birth anniversary of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar (September 23rd), his unparalleled contributions to the field of Hindi literature were remembered. Dinkar was one of the prominent Hindi writers who, through his poems, raised the voice of the nation against the British rule before independence. Moreover, even after independence, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar strongly opposed the wrong policies of the rulers in power.
Ramdhari Singh Dinkar is considered one of the most successful and famous modern Hindi poets. He wrote numerous poems, books, and compositions like ‘Rashmirathi’ and ‘Parshuram ki Pratiksha’ that easily resonated with the common people. Ramdhari Singh Dinkar was born on September 23, 1908, in the village of Simaria, Begusarai district, Bihar.
On the occasion of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s birth anniversary, a seminar and tribute ceremony were organized at the Jyotipuram Apartments Society in Patna under the chairmanship of Ravindra Ranjan, the President of Swami Sahajanand Kisan Vahini and Regional in-charge of BJP, to immortalize his works and complete creations.
During the event, Ravindra Ranjan, considering Ramdhari Singh Dinkar as the supreme poet of the common people, demanded that he be awarded the Bharat Ratna immediately. He said that Dinkar is one of the first deserving candidates for the Bharat Ratna. Not awarding him the Bharat Ratna till now is a matter of concern.
He said that the visionary, ‘great philosopher’ and ‘great creator of the desire for complete independence’ Ramdhari Singh Dinkar is among the god-like figures in the glorious series of Indian literature. Through his writing, he gave direction to the future along with the present of India’s civilization and culture, and also performed the work of meaningful analysis of past events.
Therefore, honoring Rashtrakavi Dinkar with the Bharat Ratna will be a mark of respect for the sentiments of the masses. A central university should also be established in the name of Dinkar. Dr. Prem Kumar Mani, a renowned litterateur and former legislator, while remembering Dinkar, said that his compositions contained the clarion call of complete struggle.
He said that during the days of the freedom struggle, Dinkar, who in his composition ‘Renu’ requested from the Himalayas to return Bhima and Arjuna, when he felt that after independence our leaders were not working for the people but were deeply immersed in enjoyment and luxury, he did not hesitate to recite lines like ‘Do rah, samay ke rath ka ghaghar nad suno, sinhasan khali karo ki janta aati hai’. Every composition of Dinkar is timeless. Several dignitaries, intellectuals, and BJP leaders including Pappu Sharma, KK Thakur, Anand Sharma, Sunil Singh, Sanjay Mayank, Pooja Rituraj, and Gyaneshwar Rai were present on the occasion.
