Security forces in Jharkhand are conducting continuous operations across the state to make it free from Naxalism and extremism. In this context, a major encounter took place on Wednesday morning in the dense forests of Rogri Toli, Kechki, under Bishunpur police station area of Gumla district. Security forces eliminated three Naxalites in the encounter.
An official stated that the extremists of the banned organization Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) were planning to carry out a major criminal incident. Following this, a joint team of Gumla Police and Jharkhand Jaguar launched a search operation in the area. During the search operation, the extremists suddenly opened fire on the police team. In the retaliatory action, the security forces took charge and eliminated three extremists.
