Good news has been consistently emerging for consumers in the automobile sector in India following the implementation of GST 2.0. The reduction in taxes on vehicles has prompted car companies to significantly lower their prices. This change is most prominently impacting the mid-size SUV segment, making these vehicles even more appealing to customers.
There has always been intense competition between Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the SUV segment. However, Seltos has gained an advantage following the GST rate cuts. While the Creta sees savings of up to approximately Rs 72,145, the Kia Seltos has experienced a substantial price reduction of up to Rs 75,371. This means that the Seltos is not only more affordable but is also directly poised to challenge the Creta. The price cuts are specifically for the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Manual variant.
According to the new price list released by the company, the ex-showroom prices of the Kia Seltos now start from Rs 10.79 lakh. All variants have received direct relief ranging from Rs 39,624 to Rs 75,371.
The base variant (HTE) sees a reduction of about Rs 40,000.
Mid-spec variants (HTX, GTX) are benefiting from a reduction of up to Rs 50,000.
Top-spec variants (X Line) have the most significant cuts, with customers saving over Rs 75,000. The price cuts are specifically for the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Auto (CVT) variant.
This change is very important for middle-class customers looking to buy an SUV. Getting the same powerful features and stylish design at a lower price is attracting more people. Especially those customers who were in a dilemma between choosing Creta and Seltos, now their preference may lean towards Seltos as it offers more value at a lower price.
