WhatsApp is a popular instant messaging app, not just for its basic functions, but also because it offers a variety of useful features to enhance the user experience. The company not only provides practical features but also prioritizes user safety and privacy. In addition to encrypted chats for the privacy of millions of users, the app includes several excellent privacy features, including the Status Privacy feature.
When sharing a status, users often want to hide it from certain individuals, choosing to share only with specific contacts. Some users may want to hide their status from colleagues, while others may want to hide it from relatives or certain friends. To address this need, WhatsApp offers a remarkable privacy setting that allows users to control who can see their status updates.
To set up Status Privacy:
When sharing a status, the send button has the word ‘Status’ on the left side. Click on this option. After clicking this option, you will see the words ‘Who Can See my Status Updates’. This option provides three choices.
The first is ‘My Contacts’, the second is ‘My Contacts Except’, and the third is ‘Only Share with’. If you want to hide your status from certain people, select the ‘My Contacts Except’ option and then click on the contacts you want to hide your status from.
