Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav announced that he will donate his match fees from all Asia Cup matches to the Indian Army. This announcement followed India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final held in Dubai. Prior to this, Yadav had dedicated India’s first match victory in the Asia Cup to the army and the families of those martyred in the Pahalgam attack.
In the final match against Pakistan in Dubai, Tilak Varma scored a brilliant half-century, and he formed crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube. These valuable contributions led India to defeat Pakistan. With this win, India secured its second T20 International Asia Cup title and its ninth title overall, including the one-day international format.
**Donation to the Indian Army**
After the victory against Pakistan, Captain Suryakumar Yadav stated his intention to donate his match fees from all the matches played in the tournament to the Indian Army. However, India did not accept the medals and trophy during the post-match award ceremony, leading to disappointment among spectators and players. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president from Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, was scheduled to present the trophy to the Indian team, which the Indian players refused to accept. The entire Indian team celebrated on the field without the trophy.
**Dedication of the First Match**
The Indian team played its first match in the Asia Cup 2025 on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium against Pakistan. The Indian team performed excellently and won the match. During the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav, dedicated the victory to the Indian Army and the victims of the Pahalgam attack. Now, after the final, Surya has made an important decision regarding the Indian Army.
