Following India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final, Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi voiced concerns about the potential misuse of tournament funds. She cautioned against overlooking future dangers amidst the celebratory mood. Chaturvedi highlighted that the revenue from the Asia Cup goes to the Pakistan Cricket Board, and warned that Pakistan could use the funds to rebuild terrorist camps such as Muridke. She urged people to not ignore this serious issue in the euphoria of the win. Chaturvedi emphasized that India’s issue with Pakistan extends beyond the cricket pitch to the ‘terror pitch’ they play on, which harms the nation. She reminded every Indian that this is not just a sporting rivalry but a matter of national security. This comes after the Indian army conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, destroying several terrorist hideouts, including targeting Pakistani airbases in Rawalpindi and Muridke, following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 people. Chaturvedi expressed her serious concerns about the rebuilding of these areas.
