The highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yotei, is generating significant excitement. Developed by Sucker Punch, this open-world title promises an immersive revenge saga set in feudal Japan. Players will assume the role of Atsu, a lone mercenary driven by vengeance, as she navigates the landscapes of Japan. Atsu’s mission is to confront the Yōtei Six, masked outlaws responsible for the death of her family. She will embrace the identity of the “Ghost” to achieve her goals.
Players will explore the diverse terrains of Ezo, the setting of the game which is inspired by 1600s Japan. The journey will take Atsu through various environments, from serene hot springs to misty forests and snow-covered mountains. The open-world design grants players the freedom to select which of the Yōtei Six to challenge first, offering a non-linear gaming experience.
Ghost of Yotei maintains the action combat style of its predecessor but introduces new mechanics and weapons to enhance gameplay. Players will wield two katanas, a powerful odachi, and a grappling hook, enabling traversal of challenging terrains such as cliffs and fallen trees.
According to the official PlayStation Store, Ghost of Yotei is scheduled for release on Thursday, October 2, at midnight in most time zones outside the United States. In the US, the game will launch at midnight on the East Coast, with other regions following suit.
Ghost of Yotei will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5. It will not be released on platforms such as Nintendo and Xbox. The game is planned to launch on the PS5 on October 2, 2025. Following a similar pattern, a PC launch is anticipated sometime after the initial release. The Standard Edition of the game will be available on the PlayStation Store for Rs 4,999, and the Digital Deluxe Edition will be priced at Rs 5,599.
