The automotive industry is experiencing a boost due to GST reforms. Maruti Suzuki, the leading car manufacturer in the country, has sold 80,000 vehicles since the beginning of Navratri. The reduction in GST on cars has doubled the footfall in showrooms. The new prices will remain in effect until December 31, 2025. With the remaining days of Navratri, sales are expected to surpass one lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki’s ownership program, a subscription service, further attracts customers, offering cars for a monthly fee as low as ₹1,999. This plan encompasses the car’s price, insurance, maintenance, and road tax. Additionally, a recent reduction in the repo rate has lowered EMIs, making loans more manageable.
Due to high demand, there might be a slight delay in car deliveries. Deliveries were paused until September 20th and resumed on September 22nd. Consequently, many vehicles are currently in transit, and customers may experience a short waiting period.
Significant price reductions are available on Maruti SUVs. The Brezza is now up to ₹1.12 lakh cheaper, with new prices ranging from ₹8.26 lakh to ₹11.31 lakh ex-showroom. The Grand Vitara sees a reduction of up to ₹1.06 lakh, with new prices between ₹15.78 lakh and ₹19.50 lakh ex-showroom. The Fronx is up to ₹1.11 lakh cheaper, with the entry-level variant at ₹6.85 lakh and the top variant at ₹11.84 lakh ex-showroom. The starting price for the Jimny is now ₹12.32 lakh. Following the GST cut, the Maruti S-Presso has become the most affordable car in the country, with the base model now available for just ₹3.50 lakh.
