Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana via video conferencing. The initiative saw the direct transfer of an initial installment of Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women beneficiaries across Bihar, totaling Rs 7,500 crore. The scheme, designed by the Government of Bihar, aims to empower women by promoting self-employment and providing livelihood opportunities. It provides financial assistance to women, enabling them to start employment or livelihood activities. Beneficiaries can utilize the funds in areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and small-scale enterprises. Community resource persons from Self Help Groups will offer training to support beneficiaries, with Gramin Haat-Bazaars being developed to aid in the sale of their produce. The launch featured a statewide program across multiple administrative levels, reaching over 1 crore women.
