Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana via video conferencing. The initiative saw the direct transfer of an initial installment of Rs 10,000 each to 75 lakh women beneficiaries. This amounts to a total disbursement of Rs 7,500 crore, aimed at promoting self-employment and improving livelihoods. The scheme is a state government initiative designed to empower women through financial assistance. Each beneficiary will receive an initial grant of Rs 10,000, with the potential for additional support of up to Rs 2 lakh in subsequent phases. The funds can be utilized in various sectors, including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, tailoring, weaving, and small-scale enterprises. Community resource persons connected to Self Help Groups will provide training. Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be developed to support the sale of produce.
