Snapchat is implementing a new policy that will charge users for storing more than 5GB of content within its Memories feature. This change, which is rolling out globally, affects individuals who have accumulated substantial collections of photos and videos since Memories was introduced in 2016. In India, the Snapchat Memories plan will cost INR 99 per month and will provide users with 1TB of storage. For users in other regions, the base subscription costs $1.99 per month for 100GB of storage. The Snapchat+ plan offers 250GB for $3.99 per month. Users who exceed the 5GB limit will have a 12-month grace period before needing to either pay for storage or download their content. The move to a paid model is intended to facilitate continued investment in the improvement and development of the Memories feature.
