Messi himself announced his ‘GOAT India Tour’ on his social media accounts, giving Indian fans a reason to celebrate and heightening their excitement.
On Thursday, October 2nd, coinciding with the celebration of Dussehra across India, Lionel Messi shared the news. Through a post on his social media, Messi announced his ‘GOAT India Tour.’ Messi expressed his joy and excitement about the upcoming tour, detailing the cities he will visit and the events he will participate in during his 3-day visit.
The star captain, who led Argentina to victory in the 2022 World Cup, wrote, “I am very excited to come to a beautiful country like India this December. It will be a pleasure to participate in concerts, youth football clinics, paddle cup events, and charity programs in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, and possibly another city. It will also be an honor for me to meet and talk to the special people and celebrities of India.” He further added that it is a great honor to return to India after 14 years. The star footballer added, “It is a great honor for me to travel. India is a very special country and I have good memories of the time I spent here 14 years ago. The fans here were wonderful.” Messi last visited India in 2011. This time, he will be in Kolkata (Salt Lake Stadium) on December 13th, Mumbai (Wankhede Stadium) on December 14th, and New Delhi (Arun Jaitley Stadium) on December 15th. He may also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
