The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced recruitment for Sub-Inspector positions. A total of 1799 posts are available for the SI recruitment. Furthermore, 35% of these positions are reserved for women. Interested candidates can apply through the official website bpssc.bihar.gov.in on or before October 26th. The application process commenced on September 26th. Out of the total posts, 850 are for the General category, 273 for EBC, 222 for BC, 210 for SC, 180 for EWS, 15 for ST, 42 for BC women, and 7 for transgender candidates. The age of the applicant must be between 20 and 37 years, calculated from August 1, 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to reserved category candidates, including SC/ST/OBC, as per BPSSC rules. The application fee is ₹100 for all categories.
The selection process involves a preliminary examination, main examination, PET, medical test, and document verification. Candidates must succeed in all stages to be selected. The basic salary for a Sub-Inspector in Bihar Police is ₹35,400 per month, falling under Level-6. Including allowances like dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and transport allowance (TA), the in-hand salary for an SI ranges from approximately ₹49,000 to ₹54,000 per month.
