The mid-size SUV segment is poised for significant activity in the coming years. Capitalizing on the positive response to models in this segment, automakers are planning to launch several cars to challenge the Hyundai Creta, which has been a benchmark for the past decade.
In 2026, Tata Motors, Kia, and Renault are planning to launch their mid-size SUVs. In the case of Tata, the new Sierra will arrive alongside the already existing Curvv in this segment, while Renault plans to make a comeback with the new generation Duster. On the other hand, Kia plans to launch the second-generation Seltos because the current model has been in the market for more than seven years, and in the meantime, it has also received some updates. Let us tell you about it in detail.
Tata Sierra
In early 2026, Tata will launch the Sierra with a completely new look, that too, for the first time as an electric vehicle. It will be sold with two battery options and is claimed to have a range of over 500 km on a single charge. The ICE variant will also come in the months following the launch of the electric vehicle, and it will have a new 1.5-liter turbo petrol and a 2.0-liter diesel engine.
New-Gen Kia Seltos
The second-generation Seltos, which has been seen during testing many times, will reach dealerships around the first half of 2026, with many cosmetic changes and a new cabin. Its exterior will feature new design headlamps, DRLs, and bumpers, as well as new tail lamps and alloy wheels, while there will be new features inside the cabin.
New Renault Duster
The return of the Duster nameplate will be early next year and it will be based on the new global Duster. It will be completely based on the CMF-B architecture, and a Nissan variant will also be launched. At least two petrol engines are expected initially, and a hybrid engine may also be included later.
