A distressing incident has occurred in Dhamtari district where a wife took her own life due to ongoing suspicion from her husband. The couple had been experiencing disputes stemming from distrust for several years, culminating in the tragic suicide. The incident took place in the Baniyapara ward within the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station. The couple, who had relocated from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, worked as laborers. The deceased, identified as Surekha Ahuja, and her husband were employed at a grocery store in the Jalamapur ward, residing in a rented accommodation. Their marriage, which took place approximately ten years ago, was marred by escalating suspicion in the past two years. The husband and wife frequently expressed distrust towards each other, leading to constant tension and arguments. On Friday, Surekha ended her life by hanging herself with a chunari at their home. Upon receiving the report, the Kotwali police immediately arrived at the scene and transferred the body to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
