A bizarre case has emerged from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where a husband and his two wives were arrested for a series of mobile phone thefts. The trio, identified as Kunal Rawani and his wives, Meera Devi and Deepali Devi, were apprehended by the police and are currently being interrogated. The group, originally from the Balumath police station area of Latehar district, had come to Ranchi under the guise of visiting Durga Puja celebrations. During the festivities, they targeted female devotees, stealing their mobile phones amidst the crowds. Alerted by the increasing number of thefts, the police and puja committees were vigilant. The two women were caught red-handed stealing mobile phones near a puja pandal at Kali Mandir on Ratu Road in the Sukhdevnagar police station area. A priest noticed their suspicious behavior and alerted the puja committee members, who then informed the police. Upon searching the women, two stolen mobile phones were recovered. During questioning, they confessed that their husband, Kunal Rawani, was waiting nearby. The police subsequently arrested Kunal and recovered two more mobile phones and a motorcycle. However, he was unable to produce the motorcycle’s documents, raising suspicions that it too was stolen. The Sukhdevnagar police have arrested the trio and sent them to jail. This case has become a topic of discussion in Ranchi, with the news of a husband and his two wives involved in theft making headlines.
