Following much anticipation, Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has premiered in theaters, marking a prequel to the successful 2022 Kannada film ‘Kantara.’ The film has garnered significant audience acclaim, positioning itself as a standout release amidst this week’s cinematic offerings. According to reports, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ earned Rs 43.65 crore on its second day, contributing to a total collection that surpasses Rs 100 crore. The film’s cumulative earnings currently stand at Rs 105.5 crore. The cast includes Rishab Shetty as Berme, Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The visual storytelling is brought to life by cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap and the music composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The production of the movie is overseen by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. The original 2022 film, ‘Kantara,’ was directed by Rishab Shetty, with a cast including Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. It told the story of a Kambala champion entangled in conflicts related to sacred land and ancestral traditions. ‘Kantara’ became the highest-grossing Kannada film upon its release, with Rishab Shetty receiving a National Film Award for Best Actor. In the Hindi belt, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is competing with ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ in cinemas.
