Ajay Devgn, recognized as one of Bollywood’s finest actors, has delivered numerous memorable films throughout his career. However, his filmography also includes movies that unfortunately flopped at the box office. Some of these films couldn’t even recoup their initial investment. This article revisits a specific film starring Ajay Devgn that premiered in theaters eight years ago.
Devgn made a successful debut in Bollywood and is counted among the top actors. He has starred in many hit films and also been a part of several multi-starrer projects. The film in question was a multi-starrer, featuring four other prominent actors besides Ajay, yet it failed to shine.
‘Baadshaho’ was released in 2017. The film, which hit theaters on September 1, 2017, also starred Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’Cruz, and Esha Gupta. The cast also included Sharad Kelkar and Sanjay Mishra. Ileana portrayed the character of Rani Gitanjali, while Ajay played Bhawani Singh.
The film’s story was penned by Rajat Arora and directed by Milan Luthria. The makers invested a substantial sum of 85 crore rupees in this multi-starrer project. However, the film only managed to earn 78.10 crore rupees in India, resulting in a box office failure.
In 2025, Ajay Devgn has had two film releases so far. He first appeared in ‘Raid 2,’ which proved to be a hit at the box office. Following this, his film ‘Son of Sardar 2’ was released, but it did not achieve the same success as the original ‘Son of Sardar.’ The actor is now set to appear in the film ‘De De Pyaar De 2,’ which is scheduled to hit theaters in November of this year.
