A woman was shot by US Federal agents after she intentionally rammed a law enforcement vehicle in Chicago on Sunday. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the incident, which took place during routine patrols in Broadview. According to DHS, the law enforcement officers were surrounded and blocked in by ten vehicles. This event occurred amidst ongoing anti-ICE protests and the Trump administration’s heightened measures targeting unrest in cities governed by Democrats.
Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, Tricia McLaughlin, provided details regarding the confrontation in an X post. She stated that at least ten vehicles were involved in ramming and boxing in the officers during the incident. McLaughlin mentioned that one of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle possessed a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement officers were compelled to use their weapons and fire defensive shots at the armed US citizen, a woman, during the event.
McLaughlin detailed that during a routine patrol in Broadview, in the same area where law enforcement had been assaulted the previous day, officers were rammed and surrounded by multiple vehicles. Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited. One of the drivers was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement subsequently fired defensive shots. The woman then drove herself to a hospital for medical attention.
She further indicated that the woman had been named in a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intelligence bulletin the prior week for allegedly doxing agents and posting online, ‘Hey to all my gang let’s fuck those mother fuckers up, don’t let them take anyone.’ She noted that no officers sustained serious injuries in the attack. She also indicated that Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department has left the scene and is refusing to assist in securing the area. Special operations teams are being deployed to manage the growing crowd.
