In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a BJP leader and prominent builder, Ramesh Singh, has received a death threat and a demand for extortion. The threat was delivered via WhatsApp by the Rahul Singh gang, who warned Singh about his wealth and work, demanding protection money. The gang warned Singh to be ready to face the consequences if he failed to comply. This is not the first time Singh has been targeted; he previously received similar threats from Naxals associated with the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on September 1, 2025. The repeated threats have caused significant fear for Singh and his family. Singh, who is known for his involvement in religious and social activities, recently organized a large Durga Puja celebration in Ranchi, which cost over 60 lakh rupees and featured performances by Bhojpuri artists. The recent threat was made on October 3 during the Durga Puja idol immersion ceremony, and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
