The dream of metro travel for the people of Patna is set to become a reality from October 6th. The inauguration of the Patna Metro is happening after a long wait. Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, will inaugurate the Patna Metro. Currently, only the approximately 9-kilometer metro line between three stations on the Red Line is being started in the first phase. This nine-kilometer stretch will have three metro stations.
These three stations will be ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath. On Saturday itself, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety approved the Patna Metro Rail Corporation for metro operations in Patna. Only after this did the Urban Development Department fix October 6th for the inauguration of the Patna Metro. The trial run of the metro has also been completed. The Patna Metro will run at a speed of 40 kmph. Currently, there will only be three coaches in the metro.
Art, culture, and knowledge will be visible
A glimpse of Bihar’s art, culture, and knowledge will be visible on the metro coaches. The coach has ‘Patna Metro’ written on it. Along with this, depictions of Patna Golghar, Mahavir Temple, Lord Mahavir, and Madhubani paintings, along with many other cultural, artistic, and knowledge representations, have been made. The three coaches of the metro will have a capacity of 1000 passengers. There will be seating for 138 passengers in the three coaches, while 900 passengers can travel standing.
360-degree CCTV cameras in every coach
Each coach of the Patna Metro will also have a 360-degree CCTV camera. There will also be an emergency button and a microphone in all the coaches, the sound of which will go to the driver. The Patna Metro is going to prove to be a big gift for Bihar. This will revolutionize the traffic system of Patna. The metro will bring relief to the people struggling with the increasing crowd and traffic jams on road transport.
