A tragic road accident near Chaibasa has claimed the life of a young man. Vijay Pan, a resident of Baihatu village, was fatally struck by a Manjila bus traveling from Ranchi to Chaibasa. The incident occurred on the Chakradharpur-Chaibasa main road (NH-75E) close to Baihatu village, leaving onlookers stunned. The immediate aftermath saw distraught family members and villagers staging a protest, blocking the highway for nearly three hours. Their demand was clear: on-the-spot compensation before the body would be moved. Police officials arrived at the scene and engaged in lengthy negotiations. Eventually, after assurances and the provision of initial compensation by the authorities, the villagers agreed to lift the blockade, restoring traffic flow late into the night. The deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
