The Congress party has launched a scathing attack on the central government, alleging that the Right to Information (RTI) Act has been significantly weakened since 2014. According to the party, this erosion of transparency has dealt a blow to India’s democratic framework. They accuse the current BJP-led administration of imposing restrictions on public access to information through amendments to the RTI Act.
