A tragic road accident in the Jagannathpur police station area of West Singhbhum has resulted in the death of a 30-year-old motorcyclist. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning near Jaldihha village on the main road. The victim, Ashish Laguri, was struck by an unidentified vehicle, leading to his untimely demise. His father, Sudarshan Laguri, hails from Sabil Tola Utubasud in Noamundi.
Following the accident, enraged villagers spontaneously blocked the road, staging a protest against the perilous conditions. Alerted by the situation, Jagannathpur Police Station in-charge Avinash Hembrum, accompanied by a police team, swiftly arrived at the scene. Through dialogue and assurances, they managed to persuade the protestors to clear the road. The police have taken possession of the body for post-mortem examination.
The Station in-charge confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify the driver of the errant vehicle. Legal action will be pursued once the vehicle and its driver are located. A First Information Report (FIR) is being filed against the unknown driver, and authorities are actively reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to aid in the investigation.
