Jamtara’s Superintendent of Police, Rajkumar Mehta, conducted a surprise inspection of city security late Tuesday night. The SP personally assessed the safety measures at various key locations, including the Jamtara Divisional Jail, Judicial Court, night patrol teams, Tiger Mobile, PCR, and QRT units. During his rounds, a significant lapse in security was discovered at the Judicial Court premises. Constable Sikandar Rawani, who was on duty at the sensitive court location, was found to be absent from his post. This dereliction of duty was viewed as a serious security breach. Consequently, SP Mehta took immediate disciplinary action, suspending Constable Sikandar Rawani. The SP also thoroughly reviewed the security arrangements at the divisional jail and provided crucial directives to officers and personnel regarding operational protocols.
