Jharkhand’s Leader of Opposition and BJP State President, Babulal Marandi, has penned a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, urging swift action against stone mafia kingpin Satyanath Sah. The letter highlights allegations of illegal stone mining in the Borio area of Sahebganj district. Marandi asserts that Sah, who held a mining lease for just four acres, has illegally extracted stones from an estimated 20 acres of land. An investigation ordered by the Sahebganj Deputy Commissioner reportedly confirmed these illegal mining activities. The BJP leader estimates that this illicit operation has caused the Jharkhand government a revenue loss of approximately ₹200 crore. Consequently, Marandi is calling for stringent action against Sah and the recovery of the lost revenue. He also implores the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to halt illegal mining operations and ensure the safety of informants, protecting them from potential harm.
