Godda district has clinched the top spot at the 4th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Championship, held at the Staff Club in Urjanagar. The three-day event concluded with Godda athletes showcasing exceptional skill, securing a total of 16 gold, 19 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This remarkable achievement earned them the overall championship trophy.
Other districts also displayed strong performances. Deoghar secured the second position with 8 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Hazaribagh followed with 10 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. Dhanbad earned 7 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, while East Singhbhum collected 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. Chatra achieved 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. Ranchi won 4 gold and 2 silver, and Bokaro secured 5 gold and 1 silver.
The championship saw participation from approximately 250 athletes from across the state. During the closing ceremony, Neeraj Kumar, Secretary of the Jharkhand Taekwondo Association, presented medals and certificates to the victorious competitors. Kumar emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline, confidence, and good health, applauding the participants for their competitive spirit. The event was a vibrant display of powerful techniques and athletic prowess, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. Several dignitaries and athletes were present to celebrate the success of the championship.
