Star Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to feature for Mumbai in their upcoming third-round Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan. The crucial fixture is scheduled to commence on November 1st. Jaiswal, a vital opener for the Indian Test team, has confirmed his availability for this Elite Group D encounter in Jaipur. This move aligns with the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) encouragement for centrally contracted players to participate in domestic cricket during breaks from international commitments. Jaiswal was recently involved in the ODI series against Australia and is not part of the upcoming T20I series. His last international Test appearance was against the West Indies, where he scored a remarkable 175. Jaiswal has reportedly communicated his availability to the Mumbai selection committee chairman. This upcoming match marks Jaiswal’s first for Mumbai since recommitting to the team, following previous considerations of seeking an NOC to represent Goa. His last Ranji Trophy appearance was in the 2024/25 season. The fixture also offers Jaiswal valuable match practice ahead of India’s home series against South Africa, which includes Test, T20I, and ODI formats, beginning in mid-November.
