The Indian entertainment world is mourning the loss of veteran actor Satish Shah, who passed away on October 25 at the age of 74. While initial reports suggested kidney failure, actor Rajesh Kumar, who played Shah’s on-screen son in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,’ clarified that Shah succumbed to a sudden heart attack during lunch at home. Kumar emphasized that Shah’s kidney issues had been managed, having undergone a successful bypass surgery and a recent kidney transplant. Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar revealed that Shah’s primary motivation for the transplant was to extend his life and care for his wife, Madhu Shah, who is battling Alzheimer’s. Pilgaonkar shared fond memories of the couple’s constant presence at industry events and expressed the profound void Shah’s absence leaves. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the tragic news, highlighting Shah’s exceptional talent and humanity. Longtime friend and filmmaker David Dhawan also paid tribute, recalling their five-decade friendship and Shah’s resilience, noting that health complications arose after his kidney transplant. Satish Shah leaves behind a remarkable legacy of iconic performances in films like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ and television shows, forever etched in the hearts of his fans.
