In preparation for the upcoming Ghatsila Assembly by-election in East Singhbhum district, local authorities have announced temporary traffic restrictions to ensure the safe transport of polling materials and manage vehicular flow. Heavy vehicle movement within the city will be completely prohibited on November 10th and 11th. This crucial measure aims to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
The administrative order specifies that from 4:30 AM to 11:30 AM on November 10th, and again from 4:30 PM to 11:30 PM on November 11th, no heavy vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the city limits. During these periods, only smaller vehicles and those associated with essential services will be allowed on the roads. This strategic traffic management is designed to prevent any disruptions.
The Traffic DSP highlighted that this arrangement is primarily to guarantee the unimpeded and secure transit of all election materials. He added that a special deployment of police personnel will be in place to prevent any congestion or disorder during the critical election period, ensuring a secure environment for voters and staff.
Residents are urged to cooperate with these directives and avoid unnecessary travel with heavy vehicles. Authorities have issued a stern warning that strict action will be taken against anyone violating these traffic regulations. The traffic control room will remain on high alert to respond swiftly to any emergencies and ensure no obstacles hinder the election proceedings.
