An Air India flight, AI188, en route from Toronto to Delhi, received a bomb threat on Thursday, prompting authorities to activate emergency protocols. The flight, carrying numerous passengers, landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi. Delhi Police confirmed receiving a morning message detailing the potential threat. Upon notification, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) at Delhi airport was immediately convened to thoroughly assess the situation and ensure passenger safety. Officials later characterized the threat as ‘non-specific,’ indicating no immediate danger. An Air India representative confirmed that a security alert was issued during the flight’s transatlantic journey. The spokesperson emphasized that all standard security procedures were meticulously followed by the on-board crew, prioritizing the well-being of everyone on board. The aircraft has been safely parked at the Delhi airport to undergo mandatory security screenings as per established protocols.
