The footage showed a visibly heartbroken Zayed Khan shedding tears inconsolably as he bid his mother a final goodbye. Sanjay Khan himself appeared deeply moved as he participated in the ceremony, walking hand-in-hand with Zayed towards the river. The shared video also served as a poignant tribute, featuring cherished memories of Sanjay and Zarine’s enduring love story and their family life, set to the classic Bollywood melody ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’. Zarine Khan, who was 81, passed away due to age-related complications. Her cremation followed Hindu rituals, a decision that her daughter Farah Khan Ali later defended against intrusive media attention and insensitivity.
