South Indian actress Meera Vasudevan has recently made headlines with the announcement of her divorce from her third husband, cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam. The couple, who exchanged vows in May of the previous year, have reportedly separated within a year of their marriage. This news has come as a surprise to many of her devoted followers.
Vasudevan, who gained significant recognition for her role in the Malayalam film ‘Thanmathra’ alongside actor Mohanlal, shared her marital status update on Instagram on November 16th. In her post, she declared herself to be single and embracing a “wonderful and peaceful phase of my life.” The comments section on her announcement was subsequently disabled.
The actress and Vipin met on the sets of the popular television serial ‘Kudumbavilakku,’ where he served as a cinematographer. Their professional interaction eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship, culminating in their wedding in Coimbatore. Vipin, who hails from Palakkad, has a notable career in cinematography, having worked on various television projects and documentaries.
Following the announcement, Vasudevan has reportedly removed all photographs and videos featuring Vipin from her social media platforms, including their wedding day memories.
This marks Vasudevan’s third marriage. Her previous marriage was to actor John Kokken, with whom she has a son. They were married from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, she was married to Vishal Agarwal for five years, from 2005 to 2010.
Amidst these personal developments, Meera Vasudevan also recently marked a significant professional milestone: 25 years in the film and television industry. She expressed her gratitude on Instagram, celebrating her quarter-century journey as an actress and artist.
