The highly anticipated women’s cricket tour of India by Bangladesh, featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), has been indefinitely postponed. Originally slated for December, the series has been rescheduled to an unspecified future date. A spokesperson for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the postponement, stating that the board received official communication from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the rescheduling of this white-ball series. While no explicit reason was provided for the indefinite delay, speculation suggests that ongoing political relations between the two neighboring nations may have influenced this decision. This series was a significant fixture in the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, marking India’s final international engagements before the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. It also represented the sole bilateral engagement for the Indian women’s team following their successful ODI World Cup campaign and leading up to the WPL. The scheduled venues for these matches were Kolkata and Cuttack, with the ODIs set to commence the new phase of the Women’s ODI Championship for both participating teams. This postponement echoes a similar rescheduling of the Indian men’s team’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh, which was moved from August 2025 to September 2026 due to mutual scheduling considerations. Revised dates and complete fixtures for the women’s series will be announced by the respective cricket boards in due course.
