South Africa faces a significant setback as star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been officially ruled out of the second Test against India in Guwahati. This injury also sidelines him from the upcoming white-ball series. Rabada missed South Africa’s thrilling 30-run victory in the first Test in Kolkata due to a rib bone stress injury. The Proteas medical team has been monitoring his condition, but ongoing discomfort has led to his withdrawal from the remainder of the tour. Lungi Ngidi has been brought into the squad as cover. Rabada will begin a four-week rehabilitation program with the team before returning home after the second Test. This absence could see South Africa field an unchanged side, following their strong performance in Kolkata where Simon Harmer starred with eight wickets. Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen also contributed significantly, alongside all-rounders Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch. The Proteas, captained by Temba Bavuma, are aiming for their first Test series win in India in 25 years, a feat last achieved in 2000. Their recent victory in the first Test marks a strong start to this ambition.
