All five franchises have finalized their player retentions, directly impacting their spending power for the crucial bidding event. Originally, each team began with a purse of Rs 15 crore. After locking in their core players, here’s the updated financial picture for the WPL 2026 auction:
UP Warriorz (UPW) lead the pack with a substantial Rs 14.50 crore remaining.
Gujarat Giants (GG) possess Rs 9 crore to invest in new talent.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have Rs 6.15 crore at their disposal.
Mumbai Indians (MI) will enter the auction with Rs 5.75 crore.
Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to bid with Rs 5.70 crore.
Key players retained by franchises include Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Hayley Matthews for Mumbai Indians; Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma for Delhi Capitals; Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney for Gujarat Giants; and Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry, and Shreyanka Patil for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. UP Warriorz have retained Shweta Sehrawat. The WPL 2026 mega auction is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, starting at 3:30 PM IST in New Delhi.
