Concerns are escalating in Pardesi Pada over the ongoing construction of a mosque on land allegedly encroached from the Tata Lease Area. Local residents convened a meeting to address the issue, highlighting that this mosque has faced opposition multiple times previously, leading to work stoppages. Now, construction has resumed with renewed vigor.
Local representatives informed officials that the construction is proceeding on encroached Tata Lease land. Despite prior notification to the Deputy Commissioner, SDO, Sonari Police Station, and the Tata Land Department on November 28th, no substantial action has been taken. Residents argue that the mosque attracts a congregation far exceeding the local population, raising questions about the origin of these attendees.
Residents have expressed frustration that despite repeated attempts by the administration to halt the construction, it continues unabated, pointing to powerful connections. The silence from the Tata Land Department officials is particularly perplexing. There are further allegations that infiltrators are residing in the lower-lying settlements of Sonari, prompting calls for the administration to investigate these claims.
An ultimatum has been issued: if the administration fails to take appropriate action by December 10th, residents plan to hold a one-day protest at the Veer Manch Akhara in Pardesi Pada to draw attention to the unresolved situation.
