The Jamua Community Health Center in Giridih district is facing severe operational issues, highlighting systemic deficiencies in local healthcare. While the center already grapples with a shortage of MBBS doctors, the medical services are largely dependent on Community Health Officers (CHOs).
The situation has worsened with the unexplained absence of a lab technician. Although three lab technicians are officially listed, only two were present on Thursday, December 4th. Nishant Kumar, one of the lab technicians, was absent without prior notification, raising serious concerns about accountability and negligence. The Medical Officer in Charge, Dr. Kuldeep Tirkey, confirmed Nishant Kumar’s absence and stated that no leave request was submitted by the technician. This lapse in communication and adherence to protocol underscores a worrying trend of irresponsibility within the facility. The Jharkhand government’s claims of improving education and health services stand in stark contrast to the reality at Jamua Community Health Center, where the absence of doctors, essential medicines, and now a key lab technician, points to a deeply flawed healthcare system.
