Ather Energy is reportedly preparing to introduce cruise control functionality to its 450 series of electric scooters. According to media reports, the announcement is anticipated at the company’s 2025 Community Day, scheduled for August 30, 2025. Ather may also launch a new entry-level model on this day. Furthermore, updates for the manufacturer’s current models could be revealed during the event. While the details of these updates remain unconfirmed, industry sources suggest that Ather might add cruise control as a significant feature to the 450 series. The current 450 series consists of three models: the 450s, 450X, and 450 Apex. It is believed that the cruise control feature will be incorporated into the 450X and 450 Apex models, with existing customers potentially receiving the feature through an update. However, this update will only be available for vehicles equipped with the Atherstack Pro software. This feature is not new to the Indian electric scooter market; in June 2022, Ola Electric added cruise control to its S1 series through the Move OS 2.0 update, which was later enhanced through Move OS 4.0.
