The Audi Q3, a popular model in the premium compact SUV segment, has seen over 2 million units sold in the last decade. Audi has globally unveiled the third-generation version. The new Q3 boasts a sharper design, incorporating high-tech digital features. Notably, its new plug-in hybrid variants offer extended electric driving ranges.
The new Audi Q3 is offered in two body styles: an SUV version and a Sportback version, the latter with a 29mm lower roofline for a sportier appearance. The front features a wide Singleframe grille and slim headlights. The segment first introduces micro-LED digital matrix headlights with customizable light signature options. OLED taillamps and an illuminated Audi logo enhance its premium appeal.
Inside, the new Audi Q3 introduces first-in-class features. It features a new steering control unit for increased space and easier controls. Acoustic glazing and a larger boot space contribute to a quieter cabin at high speeds. The SUV version offers a 488-liter boot space, expandable to 1,386 liters with the seats folded. Sliding and reclining rear bench seating provides passengers with enhanced comfort and flexibility.
The new Audi Q3 is launched with multiple engine options, including a 1.5L TFSI petrol engine producing 148 bhp, featuring mild-hybrid technology. A 2.0L TDI diesel engine provides a suitable option for long-distance driving.
The plug-in hybrid variant generates 268 bhp of power output, powered by a 25.7 kWh battery. The SUV version offers an electric range of 119 km (WLTP), while the Sportback version offers 118 km. Adaptive suspension is included, allowing adjustments for comfort and sporty driving preferences.
The new Audi Q3 is expected to launch in India by 2026. It may be positioned as an entry-level model in the company’s SUV portfolio. Upon its Indian launch, it will compete with vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Volvo XC40.
