BYD, a prominent Chinese auto manufacturer, is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in India. Following the launch of models like Atto 3, Seal, eMax 7, and Sealion, the company is now testing the new Atto 2 electric SUV on Indian roads. The Atto 2, already available in the UK market, is expected to undergo some feature and setup modifications for the Indian market. It is anticipated to be priced around ₹35 lakh ex-showroom, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Creta Electric upon launch in India. The Euro-spec BYD Atto 2 could feature a 45 kWh BYD Blade battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 463 km as per WLTP. It will have an FWD motor producing a maximum power of 174 bhp and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 160 km/h. The Atto 2 will showcase a robust front design and include features such as ‘Mobius Ring’ connected LED tail lights, NFC key, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, aluminum roof rails, electric folding ORVMs, and rain-sensing wipers.
