The Citroen Aircross SUV has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the recent Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash test. The tested model, a 5-seater with a 1.2L petrol-automatic engine, scored 27.05 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 40 points out of 49 for child safety. This safety rating applies to all variants of the SUV. In the frontal and side impact tests, the Aircross scored 11.05 out of 16 and a perfect 16 out of 16, respectively. It provided ‘marginal’ to ‘good’ protection for the driver and front passenger’s thighs, legs, and chest. The side pole impact test performance was deemed ‘okay’. The Aircross impressed by achieving full marks in both the dynamic (24/24) and CRS (Child Restraint System) installation tests (12/12). However, its performance in ‘vehicle assessment’ was slightly lower, with a score of only 4 out of 13.
