The recent decision by the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has brought significant relief to the Indian automobile sector. According to a Crisil Rating report, changes in tax rates could lead to a 5 to 6 percent increase in two-wheeler sales during the current fiscal year. The report suggests that this move will boost domestic market demand, particularly in the two-wheeler and passenger vehicle segments, which together account for approximately 90 percent of total sales.
