The modern world, driven by rapid technological advancements, often prioritizes new products. However, Kanwardeep Jaura of Saharanpur understands the enduring value of the past. He is dedicated to preserving the beauty of vintage cars, showcasing the ingenuity of earlier eras. Jaura’s passion for vehicles led him to seek out and restore classic automobiles. His collection includes a 1954 Dodge Convertible, a 1932 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan, and a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. He is currently working on a 1929 Chevrolet Series AC International. Jaura’s journey began with restoring his own vintage bikes, eventually leading to the establishment of AJ Motoarts in Saharanpur. He also creates replicas of classic cars like the Ford Model T, Corvettes, Alfa Romeos, and Shelby Cobras, including a notable replica of the Mercedes W 125 Silver Arrow. Jaura meticulously ensures that every detail of his restorations aligns with the original designs. He utilizes old images and even gets involved in the physical work himself. His replica cars, often equipped with electric vehicle powertrains, are designed for use on private properties, beaches, and hotels, offering a unique driving experience. Additionally, Jaura creates art deco-inspired furniture pieces from repurposed automotive parts, with clients including well-known names in the industry. Jaura acknowledges the challenges faced by Indian restorers, including import regulations and the rarity of parts. Despite these hurdles, Jaura continues to breathe life back into automotive history, with the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette being his personal favorite.
