Skoda India has released a new video teaser on its social media handle, showcasing the upcoming Skoda Octavia RS. There isn’t much mystery surrounding this model, as it was first presented to Indian audiences at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. The Octavia RS will be introduced in India as Skoda’s flagship sedan. It will be brought in as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, which will directly affect its price. It is estimated that the car’s price will be in the premium segment and will be available for sale in limited numbers. This is why this car will only target customers who want a brilliant combination of sports and luxury. After the teaser, there was a lot of enthusiasm among Octavia RS fans. Many users expressed happiness by calling it Legend is back, while some wrote Tears of joy, being emotional. However, some people also expressed concern about the price and commented Heartbreak because itll be priced too steep. Skoda has officially announced that bookings for the Octavia RS will start from October 6th. The company will also reveal its official pricing a few days after the bookings start. The Octavia RS has several performance enhancements compared to the standard variant. It features a 2.0-liter TSI, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 261 bhp of power and 370 Nm of torque. This engine is equipped with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. This same powertrain is also given in the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which was launched in India this year. It is based on the MQB Evo platform. Talking about performance, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). After launch, the Skoda Octavia RS will compete with several premium sedans in India. These include the Audi A4, BMW 2 Series Grand Coupe, Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine and the famous Toyota Camry from the hybrid segment.
