Hero MotoCorp has expanded its 125cc commuter range with the launch of the Glamour X 125. This model adds a premium touch to one of the brand’s most well-known motorcycles. While the standard Glamour is still on sale, the new Glamour X is offered with more features, including features previously unseen in this segment. This comparison looks at the differences in price, mileage, and style between the two models.
Styling
The original Hero Glamour has always played the role of a commuter bike. Its simple design is based on people’s comfort. However, the Glamour X goes a step further. With a new design H-shaped headlamp, a small visor, a more powerful fuel-tank cladding with the ‘X’ badge and more body work, it gives a sporty look.
Technology
While the Glamour looks like an older bike, the Glamour X outshines with features that are usually found in high-performance motorcycles. The Glamour has a digital instrument panel. The Glamour X features a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, and brightness adjustment.
The most notable feature is that the Glamour X offers cruise control, which is a first in the 125cc commuter class in India. It also has ride-by-wire technology and select ride modes: Eco, Road, and Power, making it comfortable for daily life.
Hardware
Internally, both models are almost identical. Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking options are also the same, either a disc brake at the front or a drum brake at the rear. Neither variant offers ABS. Both motorcycles also have 18-inch alloy wheels, making them commuter-friendly.
Engine
The Glamour has a 125cc single-cylinder engine that generates 10.68 bhp and 10.4 Nm of torque and is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The Glamour X also has the same, but its tuning is similar to the Xtreme 125. It generates 11.40 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Price
The Glamour comes in two variants, with the drum version starting at ₹ 87,198 and the disc version priced at ₹ 91,198. The Glamour X, despite its extra features, is slightly more expensive. The drum version is priced at ₹ 89,999, while the disc version is priced at ₹ 99,999.
