Hero MotoCorp has expanded its presence in the 125cc motorcycle segment with the recent launch of the Glamour X, the first 125cc bike in India with cruise control. Following this trend, the Hero Xtreme 125R has been updated with a single-seat variant option, priced at ₹1 lakh. This is priced higher than the split-seat IBS variant (₹98,425), but slightly less than the split-seat ABS variant (₹1.02 lakh). The Hero Xtreme 125R is positioned in the 125cc segment alongside the Hero Glamour, Glamour X, Glamour XTEC, Super Splendor XTEC, and Xtreme 125R. The Xtreme 125R stands out with its sporty design, further enhanced by the split-seat setup. The Xtreme 125R is priced similarly to the top variant of the recently launched Glamour X. However, while the Glamour X comes with ride-by-wire and cruise control technology, the Xtreme 125R features single-channel ABS.
In addition to the single-seat model, the split-seat IBS variant is available for ₹98,425 and the split-seat ABS variant for ₹1,02,000. The new model presents a mid-level option for customers. The most significant change in this variant is the seat design, now featuring a single-seat setup, providing greater comfort for the rider. However, this change slightly reduces the bike’s aggressive look, as the split-seat design appears sportier. The engine remains the same, a 124.7cc single-cylinder engine. This engine generates 11.4 bhp of power at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, with a 5-speed gearbox. Overall, the new variant is a good option for those seeking comfort at an affordable price. Safety features include single-channel ABS and attractive styling (sporty tank, LED headlights).
