The Hyundai i20, initially launched in India in 2008, has undergone several facelifts and generational upgrades in 2014 and 2020. This hatchback has consistently been praised for its elegant styling, premium cabin, and diverse powertrain options. Aiming to revitalize its market performance within the small car segment, Hyundai is set to launch a new generation i20. Currently in its early testing phase, the fourth-generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted on the roads of Gurugram, Haryana. The 2026 Hyundai i20 is expected to maintain its core design while incorporating the brand’s latest design language, potentially featuring a completely redesigned front fascia and newly designed alloy wheels. The hatchback lineup might also introduce new color options. Inside, the new i20 is anticipated to have a redesigned dashboard and a 10.2-inch dual TFT cluster. To enhance its appeal, Hyundai may incorporate features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and other premium amenities. Regarding the engine, the 2026 Hyundai i20 is likely to retain its existing engine options. Similar to the current model, the next generation will offer a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, along with various gearbox options. The performance-oriented i20 N Line variant will also continue to feature a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The pricing of the new Hyundai i20 is expected to see a slight increase compared to the current model, potentially ranging from ₹6.87 lakh to ₹10.43 lakh (ex-showroom). This car will directly compete with the Maruti Baleno.
