A video of a Mahindra Thar in Delhi has gone viral on social media, leaving everyone astonished. In the video, a woman drove her brand-new Thar straight off the first floor of a showroom. The car overturned, its airbags deployed, and onlookers were stunned. The woman had purchased the Thar for 27 lakh rupees, but the delivery day turned into a disaster. A significant question arises: how will the extensive damage be compensated, and will the insurance company approve a claim?
This incident occurred at a Mahindra showroom in the Nirman Vihar area of Delhi. The woman arrived to take delivery of her new Thar. The car was blessed on the first floor, and rituals were performed. However, as the woman moved the car forward, she lost control, and the vehicle crashed through the showroom’s glass, falling to the ground. The Thar overturned, but thankfully, the airbags deployed, saving the lives of the woman and showroom staff. The accident left everyone shaken, and the newly purchased Thar was severely damaged.
Regarding insurance coverage, a major question on everyone’s mind is whether the woman will receive insurance compensation for the damage. Typically, the showroom arranges insurance for a new car before delivery, with the cost borne by the customer. Technically, the insurance became active the moment the car was delivered to the woman.
Therefore, the woman might be eligible for an insurance claim in this case. However, the insurance company will investigate the incident to determine whether it was an accident or due to negligence. Given that the incident resulted from a loss of control and could have caused significant harm, it will likely be considered an accidental case. In such cases, the insurance company covers the repair costs, but the customer typically has to pay a deductible.
