Kia is gearing up to launch the all-new Kia Carens EV, positioning it as a potential leader in the MPV EV market. The teaser campaign indicates an impressive range of approximately 490 kilometers. Kia is expected to unveil the full specifications soon, though some details have already surfaced. The Clavis EV is scheduled for a debut on July 5, promising a blend of practicality and cutting-edge technology, as showcased in recent teasers. Safety is a key focus, with the vehicle featuring a Level 2 ADAS suite, incorporating around 20 autonomous functions. Standard safety equipment will include six airbags, ESC, Hill start assist, Down Hill Brake control, and all-wheel disc brakes. Interior visuals suggest the EV variant will be based on the top-tier Clavis model, with premium cream leatherette upholstery and a floating dash design. The powertrain is expected to be similar to the Creta EV, offering two battery options: a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh pack. The higher-end variant is anticipated to deliver around 171 PS. Fast charging capabilities will allow for a 10-80% charge in approximately an hour using a 50 kW DC charger. The Carens Clavis may potentially offer an upgraded battery compared to the Creta EV to achieve its projected 490 km range.
